Peter Krokar

Petar Krokar is a Croatian pianist and répétiteur, born on April 13, 1999, in Split. He began his musical education at the Josip Hatze Music School in Split, where he completed both his elementary and secondary music education, and then continued his piano studies at the Academy of Music, University of Zagreb (2017–2023). In 2023, he pursued further artistic training at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest.
Krokar is the recipient of numerous awards at national and international competitions. At the Croatian National Competition for Music and Dance Students, he won First Prize (2017) and Second Prize (2015), and in 2017 he received the prestigious “Oskar znanja” award for an absolute first prize. He is a multiple laureate of the international competition Daleki akordi in Split and winner of Second Prize at the Jurica Murai Memorial Competition in Varaždin.
As a soloist and chamber musician, he performs regularly in Croatia and abroad. He has distinguished himself through performances with the Orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre in Split as part of the “Future Philharmonic” project, where he performed Joseph Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D major, as well as in a performance with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, performing Camille Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 5. His concert activity includes solo recitals, chamber music, and contemporary music projects, including performances with the Synchronos ensemble and participation in projects such as the complete performance of Alexander Scriabin’s piano sonatas and performances of György Ligeti’s études as part of the “Ligeti 100!” project.
He is particularly active as a répétiteur and chamber partner. He has collaborated with numerous singers and instrumentalists, including long-standing collaborations with cellist Lucija Mušac, cellist Janko Franković, soprano Martina Barišić, and clarinetist Sunčica Hadaš. As an official répétiteur, he also participates in seminars and competitions, including the Kaštela Summer School and the Daleki akordi competition.
Since 2024, he has been employed at the Josip Hatze Music School in Split as a piano and répétiteur teacher, where he continues to work both as a pedagogue and as an active concert musician.
